TWISTED TOWERS
New York, USA
Type: Art Photography
Company: GSAPP (Educational Institution)
Service: Photography
A photographic study of architectural models exploring tiling, modular fabrication, and repetition as tools for architectural composition. Twisted Towers are composed of three units made of glycerin, examining how repetition and variation shape organizational, experiential, and aesthetic qualities across different scales and perspectives. Shot in black and white, the series uses silhouettes, hard shadows, reflections, and shifting scales to create a sense of abstraction while revealing the relationships between the units. The images captures the permutations of the three modules, and intimate close-ups imagine how these spaces might be experienced at a human scale.
